Sustainable procurement in The Hague

The Hague municipality is keen to improve its environmental footprint, among other things by  making its procurement policy more sustainable. The municipality scores well in national reviews on the basis of the current, limited set of sustainable procurement criteria and CE Delft was asked to advise on how to achieve further improvements. As a first step, The Hague intends to address a limited number of elements of its procurement portfolio: those with the greatest environmental impact. To identify these, CE Delft carried out a ‘quick scan’ and on this basis drew up a plan for reducing the footprint by introducing a number of changes to the municipal procurement policy.
