CE Delft was commissioned by Zeeland’s Socio-Economic Council to explore the opportunities of a circular economy in the province along with the measures and actions required to realize the economic benefits of such an economy. This advice represents a further development and broadening of the earlier provincial Framework for an Economic Agenda 2.0 for 2016-2019. For this project CE Delft conducted an in-depth analysis to identify the (technical) merits of circular-economy initiatives in Zeeland that are ready-to-go but still need an additional impulse. This was done for four industries: chemicals, construction, agro-food and recreation. To this end, talks were held with numerous key stakeholders and further analysis made of several iconic projects in each sector. Based on this in-depth analysis a series of recommendations for provincial policy have been made.
