Comparison of Ecomel packagings

In environmental analyses beverage cartons often score just as well as varieties of two-way packaging and sometimes even better. A simple comparison of a 1-litre beverage carton with a frequently returned 1-litre bottle made of PC or glass shows that in terms of climate impact the former performs best. In terms of energy consumption beverage cartons perform worse, however, although most of the energy is in the form of bio-energy (including feedstock). The report provides information on the issue, targeted at dairy consumers.
