Isabel Nieuwenhuijse
researcher/consultant

I enjoy researching the environmental aspect of innovations to identify scope for improvements and see how these can be implemented, in material and product procurement, for example.

About Isabel

I am a senior researcher/advisor in the Chain Analysis sector and have worked at CE Delft since early 2018.

My main focus is projects at the interface of industry and raw materials. Fields in which I have extensive experience are (bio)chemistry, building materials and the Groundwater Act (Grondwaterwet, GWW), sewage treatment and circularity. Projects I work on are often underpinned by life cycle assessments (LCAs) and the life cycle approach, which then form the basis for policy and policy advice. In addition to researching environmental issues, I find it interesting to see how new techniques, innovation and ways of thinking can be put into practice, for example by making the environment part of procurement and decision-making processes. In this, I work regularly with CE Delft’s Economics sector.

Before working at CE Delft, I completed a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering at TU Delft, majoring in Product Engineering and a bachelor’s degree in Molecular Science & Technology (majoring in Technology) at TU Delft and Leiden University.
