AMA-wide strategy for data centres

Amsterdam Metropolitan Area (AMA) and constituent local government authorities – as well as national government and grid operators – currently face major decisions regarding data centres. While fulfilling a key role in digitizing the regional and national economy, data centres are also putting increasing pressure on scarce municipal space and grid capacity in the AMA. In order to make well-grounded choices, AMA and Buck Consultants International (BCI) asked CE Delft to provide input and recommendations for an AMA data centre strategy. This report will serve as one of the building blocks for drawing up such a strategy and is not therefore necessarily the strategy that will be adopted by the AMA or local government.
